Big Feastival 2026: A Weekend of Music, Food and Family Fun in the Cotswolds

With just two weeks to go, the countdown is well and truly on for one of the Cotswolds’ biggest summer events. Big Feastival returns to Alex James’ farm near Kingham over the August Bank Holiday weekend, bringing three days of live music, incredible food, comedy and family entertainment to the heart of the Cotswolds.

Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, Big Feastival has become a firm fixture in the Cotswolds events calendar – and with a line-up spanning music, food, comedy and family entertainment, there is plenty to look forward to when the festival gets underway from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August.

Music, food and plenty of entertainment

The music line-up is headed by Basement Jaxx, The Streets and Bastille, with The Streets set to perform their multi-platinum album A Grand Don’t Come For Free in full.

There is plenty more across the weekend, with Perrie, Mimi Webb, Doves and Freya Ridings among the other acts appearing, alongside special guests RUDIM3NTAL.

And the entertainment doesn't stop when the main stages do. The Cheese Hub will once again turn into a late-night destination, with DJ sets from names including Simon Pegg, Chris Stark, DJ Spoony, Connor Coates, Sarah Story, Seb Fontaine and Tall Paul.

Over at The Outpost, festival-goers can keep dancing into the night with performances from Sweet Female Attitude, Fabio & Grooverider and The Allergies, while The Barn returns for a second year with Sofar Sounds showcasing emerging artists.

A feast for food lovers

Of course, food is at the heart of Big Feastival – and this is where the event really fits its Cotswolds surroundings.

The festival brings together an impressive collection of chefs and food producers, with Simon Rogan, Anna Haugh and Emily English among the headline names.

The Big Kitchen Stage will also welcome Meera Sodha, Jon Watts and Sally Abé, alongside plenty more culinary talent throughout the weekend.

For those who want to get more hands-on, popular experiences including the Chef’s Pantry, BBQ Cook School, Table Sessions and Little Cooks are all returning.

Whether you're there for a leisurely lunch, looking for inspiration for your own kitchen or simply want to spend a weekend eating your way around the festival, food is very much part of the experience.

Something for the whole family

Big Feastival isn't just about music and food. Families are well catered for too, making it an appealing choice for a summer day out or a full weekend in the Cotswolds.

The Big Top will feature Justin Fletcher (Mr Tumble), MC Grammar and Nick Cope, alongside attractions including Taskmaster Live, The Traitors Improv and a K-Pop Demon Hunters Disco.

With so much happening across the festival site, it's the kind of event where families can split up for an hour or two, find something different to enjoy and then meet up again for food or live music.

Make a weekend of it in the Cotswolds

For visitors coming from outside the area, Big Feastival is also a great excuse to turn a festival visit into a Cotswolds weekend break.

Alex James' farm is close to Kingham, one of the most attractive villages in the north Cotswolds, and the surrounding area is packed with places to explore.

Why not arrive a little earlier and spend time discovering the local villages, enjoy a meal at one of the area's pubs or restaurants, or make time for some Cotswolds shopping before heading to the festival?

The likes of Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh and Broadway are all within easy reach, while the surrounding countryside provides plenty of opportunities to escape the festival atmosphere for a quieter walk or afternoon.

For anyone staying locally, there is also the added benefit of being able to experience Big Feastival during the day before returning to a Cotswolds pub, restaurant or holiday cottage in the evening.
